　　XChat是流行的聊天室软件，类似于Windows 下的mIRC（[url=http://down1.tech.sina.com.cn/download/downContent/2004-03-16/288.shtml][color=#000099]下载[/color][/url]），MS Chat等软件。利用它你可以登陆到任何的IRC 服务器和别人交流。xchat 运行在X11 环境下，有着良好的用户界面和许多聊天所需要的功能：例如私聊、支持多个聊天室等等。同时它还可以嵌入 API perl 和Python（[url=http://down1.tech.sina.com.cn/download/downContent/2005-09-30/15399.shtml][color=#000099]下载[/color][/url]）接口。
